Organization of Black Aerospace Professionals will feature a private viewing of the George Lucas film, “Red Tails”

Captain Ray Anthony Evans Originally from Brooklyn New York, He lives in Texas with his family. Ray and his two sisters come from a very humble beginning. His dad was a janitor and mom was a clerk in a hospital. I started flying when I was 14 years old. While in High School I had a part time job as a Bike Messenger in New York City and worked at McDonalds to generate money for flying lessons. I worked my way through college and graduated from Utah Valley University with a bachelors of Science degree in Aviation. Ray has logged over 11,000 hours of flight time and currently serve as an Instructor Pilot and Check Airman for American Eagle Airlines. Evans currently serves as the Southwestern Regional Vice President for The Organization of Black Aerospace Professionals. Meanwhile here is the information about the movies. On February 11, 2012, the Organization of Black Aerospace Professionals in conjunction with our partner organizations such as American Airlines, American Eagle, American Airlines Federal Credit Union, McDonalds Corporation and others, have collaborated to bring important history to the Dallas and Fort Worth area. Event Purpose: To provide a platform that exposes and educates students throughout the Dallas and Fort Worth area about the history and heroism of the Tuskegee Airmen and their contribution to our country’s great history. Event Target: The target audience will be middle and high school students who could possibly possess an interest in aviation, but who have minimal exposure to this field of study. Event Highlights: The event will feature a private viewing of the George Lucas film, “Red Tails” which tells the heroic story of the Tuskegee Airmen. Immediately following the movie presentation, continue with our “NETMET” or networking and mentoring program to further expose the students to the world of aerospace. Our roster of activities include inspirational singing by Imaj, entertainment by David Mann, mentoring and networking with, military and civilian pilots, air traffic controllers, aircraft mechanics, Aviation Universities, and flight schools. This block of activities will give students even more contact with individuals that make up the aviation industry. Join members of the professional aerospace industry, the Organization of Black Aerospace Professionals (OBAP), American Airlines and our partners for student outreach, fun, food and music that will inspire, educate and excite our youth as never before.
